How to Make Sure You Have Safe Drinking Water

Prepare now! It’s simple:

1. Get a reverse osmosis filter. They are about $150 from Amazon. Reverse osmosis removes virtually everything, even fluoride. (Change filters about every 6 months). Reverse Osmosis even works for RADIOACTIVITY, because water does not get radioactive. It’s only the junk IN the water that is radioactive!

Note: You do not have to install these filters under your sink. You can connect the input to your faucet and put the output into a 5 gallon water jug.

2. Get 5 gallon BPA-free gallon jugs from Amazon.

3. Get a hand pump for $10 from ebay. You could also get a nice cooler for your jugs. They make models now where you don’t have to lift them up and turn them upside down (although this won’t work in a blackout – so make sure you get the hand pump).

4. Second best after reverse osmosis is a Katadyn filter. These filters do not use a reverse osmosis membrane. They use microporus ceramic and are used by the military and for outdoor camping. They are the best in the world.

This is all covered in my book, You’re not fat, You’re Toxic. As is the following advice:

Do NOT Use Distilled Water:

Unfortunately, while distilling does leave behind some dangerous toxins such as heavy metals, it actually concentrates some other dangerous chemicals that cause cancer and other health problems, called DBPs. DBP stands for disinfection byproduct. DBPs are chemicals that form when chemicals that are used for disinfecting, such as chlorine, react with organic matter which is also in the water.

Scientists have found that DBPs are over 10,000 times more poisonous than chlorine, which is very poisonous to start with.
