Almond Milk Recipe

Use instead of unhealthy milk or soy milk. It’s very good for you!

Soak 1 cup of unpasteurized, raw almonds for 24 hours.

Blend the almonds with 4 cups of filtered or spring water. Use as-is (best), or strain if desired.

IMPORTANT: Unfortunately, because all almonds in the USA are now “pasteurized”, with steam or carcinogenic chemicals, it’s extremely difficult to get real “raw” almonds anymore in the U.S. Those almonds labelled “raw” in the health food store, are NOT raw. They are lying to you. They will not sprout.

You can get really raw, unpasteurized Spanish almonds from www.nuts.com.

Sometimes you can get raw, unpasteurized almonds from ebay, as I understand that they are still allowed to sell small quantities direct to purchasers.

Alternative To Making Your Own

It will be cooked, but a whole lot better for you than using milk or soy milk: If you look in the fridge section of your supermarket, they have almond milk there, which is better for you than the long-life stuff. Make sure it’s unsweetened and non-GMO. It’s good to have this as a backup.
