Chocolate Facts:

It’s Very Bad for Your Health

by Stephanie Relfe B.Sc. (Sydney)

I was shocked the other day when I was having a phone conversation with a woman about health. This woman was under the impression that chocolate is a food! Let me be very clear. IT IS NOT A FOOD. IT IS A TOXIN.

Your first clue is this – anything that is THAT addictive just has to be bad for you. What’s the difference between a craving and a healthy urge from your body to eat something good for you? If it’s a craving, which you get from something that is weakening for your body, the more you eat, the more you want. Like with chocolate. If it’s a healthy urge, then when you’ve eaten some, you don’t want anymore.

In the “old” days when I was growing up in the 60s in Australia, chocolate was something that we had a few SQUARES of, on special days only. It wasn’t until I went to university that I had a whole bar for myself. Over the years I have seen stores put more and more chocolate in the stores, closer and closer to the counter. They are good drug pushers and realize that it’s very hard for an addict to walk past this without getting some.

For most people, chocolate is worse than candy, (unless you are super sensitive to some of the terrible colorings they put in candy).

Chocoalte contains:

1) Sugar

2) Caffeine. This is an aging drug. It puts your body into stress. It makes people tired so that they then crave more of the drug which made them tired in the first place, just because it gives them an initial kick which exhausts their adrenal glands.

3) Phenylethylamine (PEA) (Pronounced Phenyl-ethyl-amine).

I was told this by a naturopath I know and respect, who is very well read and knows all kinds of interesting facts about natural health, that Phenylethylamine is something that your body produces when you are happily in love.

I have an intuitive feeling that that is a main reason why people, especially FEMALES, are addicted to chocolate. They are getting a chemical replacement for love. The problem with any chemical replacement is that your body then stops producing that chemical naturally (since this saves the body trouble). And then the person has to keep getting more fixes (as for any drug addict). So I believe that people who eat chocolate, especially a lot of it, will find it harder to feel true love in their hearts for themselves, other people and especially for God the Creator.

4) Very high oxalate conent, especially in cocoa This can cause kidney stones. (See the numbers here)

5) Anandamide. This subtance mimics majijuana!

6) DANGEROUS levels of lead. (To remove lead, try chelation. We used to sell chelation by suppository, until the government told us not to. Yet you can still by the product, Chelatox, from Canada).

7) 50% of all chocolate, cocoa and chocolate flavoring is farmed by real slaves, many of them children. (The exception to this is organic and fair trade chocolate and cocoa.)

In two documentaries you will see a young teenager who was a slave grower of cocoa say to people who eat chocolate and chocolate flavoring:

The Dark Side of Chocolate

Slavery. A Global Investigation

“They enjoy something I suffered to make. I worked hard for them, but saw no benefit. They are eating my flesh.

There are major spiritual ramifications to eating something that was grown by slaves.

Why would you want to give this to children???

Muscle testing and kinesiology show that many health problems are partly caused by toxins from chocolate. To do this test, one needs to know how to do a test for “emotional over-ride”. When a kinesiologist does a normal muscle test for a food that is weakening to the body, the arm being tested goes weak. This doesn’t happen a lot of the time with chocolate. That’s not because the chocolate is not weakening – it is. It’s because the body has become so addicted to chocolate and the ‘high’ that it gives, that it does an extra effort called “emotional over-ride” to make the test APPEAR to be positive. When one does the emotional over-ride technique, some substances that previously appeared to test positive will then test negative. This often happens with chocolate. It can also happen with caffeine, store-bought bread and french fries.

I have been in balance and out of balance so many times, and found that the cause was chocolate so many times, that I have actually given up chocolate. Most people find it very hard to believe that I never eat chocolate, and haven’t for years. On the occasions when someone has sent me chocolate, I have either given it away or (horrors!) put it in the trash. That’s where it belongs.

Just because something is ‘natural’ does not mean that it is good for you! Deadly nightshade and mercury are natural! In any case, chocolate is highly, highly processed, which is not natural. The more a ‘food’ is processed, the less the body likes it. In fact, in the days around 1999 when I was still eating chocolate, but at the same time starting to get more sensitive and in tune with my body, I found that the chocolate that seemed to affect me worse was the better (i.e. more processed) chocolate. Those yummy $2 a piece chocolates from specialty stores could really blow my systems out of balance!

The fact that people now think that chocolate is a food is evidence that the marketing program for chocolate has been very successful. It has nothing to do with the truth. Note that the studies that are done always look at things that are in chocolate, NOT AT CHOCOLATE AS A WHOLE. A scientific study can be made to ‘prove’ just about anything, especially when there is big money to fund it. Remember, each cancer vicitm gives the medical industry around $300,000, so they aren’t going to be too worried if you get toxic either.

Giving up chocolate was a lot harder for me than giving up caffeine in the form of coffee and green tea. But it was sure worth it. I don’t think I could have done it without my body continually giving me feedback through muscle testing, which you can learn from my training DVD, “Perfect Health with Kinesiology & Muscle Testing.
